Sprint Triathlon

The Sprint Triathlon features a 400 meter swim, 18 km bike, 4 km run.

It is open to solo athletes only.

The swim is parallel shore swim in the clean waters of Lake Huron. Due to increasing poulariy of the Sprint Triathon we will be having wave starts to decrease congestion on the swim course. The water temperatures in past years have averaged 21C, wetsuits have been allowed in past years. The swim will be cancelled if the lake is rough making it unsafe for the athletes or volunteers. The swim has been cancelled four times in the thirty one year history of the event. If the swim is cancelled, the Triathlon will be converted to a Duathlon.

The bike is a very fast flat paved 18 km out and back course though the low traffic roads of Lambton County. There will be a lead pace car, a trail vehicle and a roving SAG wagon to supply technical assistance. The course is well marked with volunteers at each intersection and turn.

The 4 km run is an out and back loop along the Lake Huron shoreline. You will pass four water stations on the run course. Washrooms available on the run course in transition.

We will be using computer chip timing.

The awards ceremony will recognize the top three men and women overall, and the top three men and women in each 10 year age group with plaques.

All athletes receive a unique themed Technical T shirt as part of the registration, as well as access to the famed post race feast.
